Him Indoors has spotted the green paint. Pointed comments have been made. Compounded my error by leaving the soil-covered sweetcorn forks I use to prick out seedlings in a spot where they could be mistaken for being clean. Luckily he saw the compost before putting fork & melon in his mouth…
Swift trip up today after work. My nasturtiums are safely tucked up in beds, balcony de-planted of globe artichokes and Kent Blue peas – which have gone next to the garlic after all and sod the consequences. Earthed up the potatoes and added more compost the ones in the bags. Noticed that the oca-inna-bag is starting to poke through…hope it survives the frost on the weekend! Likewise all the strawberry flowers – they are going completely bonkers, and this on a diet of mostly neglect. I’m impressed.
It’s nearly dry enough to start digging again. Hurrah!
Sown Atika root parsley at home today in the green trug for living on the balcony till autumn with the carrots. Gave the surviving habaneros an anti-aphid shower and fed them – flowers are starting on one of them. The Lemon Drop on the balcony has about 16 little chillies on it, and I know it can’t have crossed with anything, so that’s my fresh seed sorted for next year.
